Located
in the heart of Brooklyn's East Flatbush Community, Hawks
International Youth Organization, Inc (HIYO) is a not for
profit "global" organization, whose purpose is to
support and strengthen the community by exposing community
members to and involving them in the rich cultural heritage
of the Caribbean, to bridge the digital divide by providing
access to technology and to empower our youth through
tutoring and mentoringprograms.
HIYO
provides support to our immigrant population, as well as the
community at large on a variety of issues from cultural,
health, education and computer literacy. Our various
activities and programs :
Caribbean
Cultural Program
: encompassing many facets of the West
Indian cultures, mainly the art of costume manufacturing
and our participation in support of various Carnival
around the world.
Project
Under Wing
: provides resources for college students in
the form of books, financial assistance and more just to
name a few of our initiatives.
We
pride ourselves on innovative adaptive programs that promote community wellness.
The assistance provided by our community
partners, patrons, and grants enable Hawks
International to keep these programs alive and thriving.
